Stanley has recalled 2.6 million of two popular stainless steel travel mugs, the Switchback and Trigger Action, due to defective lids that can detach during use, causing burn injuries for some users. The Consumer Product Safety Commission reported 91 incidents globally, with 38 burn injuries and 11 cases requiring medical attention. The affected mugs were sold from 2016 to 2024 through major retailers such as Amazon, Walmart, and Target. Stanley urges customers to stop using the product and request a replacement lid via the Stanley website to prevent further harm.
