Exceeding Expectations: Certified Fire & Explosion Investigators

When it comes to fire origin and cause investigations, the certifications your inspector has achieved can make all the difference. The engineers at CED understand the difference and have completed the appropriate certifications to endorse their knowledge and experience with fire investigations. It’s critical to stay current with the contemporary literature, trainings, and methods to conduct a fire investigation. CED’s engineers pride themselves on staying up to date on the correct ways to perform a fire investigation.

The National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI) was founded in 1961 as a non-profit association dedicated to advancing fire investigation training. NAFI provides fire and explosion investigator certifications, including the Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator (CFEI) program.

Completing the CFEI program adds a person to an international registry that recognizes qualified fire and explosion investigators. The CFEI sets the standard for evaluating the qualifications of those conducting fire, arson, and explosion investigations, and creates a benchmark for investigators to establish their professional credentials. It is the one of the leading fire investigator certifications based on the scientific principles of NFPA 921.

Achieving the CFEI as an investigative engineer verifies their skills and experience, and adds credibility on the national level. The rigorous certification process helps define what it means to be a professional fire investigator.

For cases that involve loss, fire protection system failure, ignition source, violation of building and fire codes, or fire detection technology, CED has the right fire protection engineers to help you. Review our full list of CFEI engineers or contact CED to review your case.
