Biography/Background
Mr. Daniel MacIver is one of CED's Mechanical Engineers who has a formal education and work experience in the automotive industry. He is part of CED’s Transportation focused group.
Daniel graduated from Ontario Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering, the only accredited program of its kind in Canada. His education covered a range of automotive specific courses in addition to foundational mechanical engineering coursework. These automotive courses included Fundamentals of Automotive Engineering, Powertrain Design, Vehicle Dynamics and Control, Chassis Systems Design, Electric and Hybrid Vehicles, Autonomous Vehicles, Automotive Structural Design, and Road Vehicle Aerodynamics.
Some of Daniel’s automotive experience includes a 12-month internship with BMW Group Canada as the Quality and Technical Engineering Intern. During this internship he participated in field investigations of vehicle fires and other special cases. Working for BMW, he also gained valuable insights into automotive aftersales processes and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
In his work at CED, Daniel will focus on mechanical engineering and vehicular accidents, including vehicle fires.
